Riding the GAP! on a... tandem!?

Friends Last year in 2018, I had an unforgettable experience cycling 150 miles across the MD and PA mountains on the 'GAP ride' for Haiti.   Half way through that arduous journey , my dear friend Pife said 'brother next year we should do this on a tandem bike!' .

I agreed for 2 reasons.  A) I didnt think he was serious.  B) It was a year away so i didnt really care.

Well the first week of August in less than 2 weeks....  I'll get on a tandem bicycle for the *very first time* - to pedal 150 miles over a weekend.

Will this work?

will we still be best buds?

will I jump in the river and never come home?

will my legs go numb?

will i install a weedwacker motor to my pedal?

will Pife pedal at all?

will i Pedal at all?

will i bring a morrocan candle holder like i did last year so Gary Molinaro has to carry it in his bag?

anythings possible.

Now lets talk about why I'm really doing this ride... its a wonderful way to raise money and awareness for our dear friends in Haiti.  I'm overwhelmed and honored to be able to serve such big dreamers in Haiti. I can't say enough for the gratitude and kindness and faith thats blessed me these last 10 years.  I'm humbled. I love these friends, and this beautiful island - Ayiti.

so....

I ask that you give me all your money.

correction*

i ask that you give me some of all of your money.

correction*

i ask that you take the money you were gonna give to Pife and give it to me instead.

last correction*

I would humbly ask that you support my ride; my goal is $750.

thank you!  and lastly - if i don't come home my email passwords are in the drawer next to my bed.

life is an adventure -

Joe

(P.S. - i'm riding on the front seat.   that was part of the deal, i get the front seat)

ABOUT Ride the GAP 2019

Espwa’s Ride the GAP is a fundraising adventure bike ride on the Great Allegheny Passage (GAP). This 3-day excursion spans 150 miles from Cumberland, MD to Pittsburgh, PA. Riders of all skill levels are welcome on this fully supported ride. Funds raised from this charity bike ride will be used to support the projects of the Espwa Foundation.

The Espwa Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to impacting those in poverty in the Cap Haitien, Haiti region.  "Espwa" is the Haitian Creole word for "hope."  We believe it's all about relationships and that through long-term development, we can truly help our brothers and sisters in Haiti.  We don't just throw money at problems, or give handouts when they are not the appropriate type of intervention.  We assess situations, get to know those involved, and come up with strategies to achieve personal and professional growth.  In our project portfolio, we engage in medical relief by partnering with local physicians, and undertake development efforts across the spectrum: family support, farming, small business, pastoral support, and more.  Join our movement of hope in Haiti today!
